SAPPHIRE WINDOW ASSEMBLIES / VIEWPORTS / Optical Caps
Sapphire Optical Assemblies

High purity sapphire is combined with a high temperature vacuum brazing process to produce a hermetically sealed window of extraordinary strength. The innovative use of proprietary brazes and joining technologies allows the creation of strong, durable, shock resistant components from a variety of dissimilar materials. The sapphire windows can be joined to various mounting flanges and corrosion resistant materials. These window assemblies are designed for applications that require wide temperature ranges, high pressures, scratch resistance, high thermal shock tolerance and a broad spectrum of frequency transmission at a high percentage of through-put.

Sapphire Optical Viewports

These viewports utilize a sapphire window brazed into a stainless steel or Hastelloy housing to produce a chemically durable viewport that can operate in harsh conditions including high and cryogenic temperatures as well as corrosive and abrasive atmospheres. Sapphire has excellent frequency transmission characteristics from ultraviolet through infrared.

TYPICAL APPLICATIONS INCLUDE:

  • Laser Systems
  • Optoelectronic Devices
  • Fire Control Systems
  • Sensors
  • Chemical Processes
  • Photocells

SAPPHIRE WINDOW CAPS

Sapphire optical window caps offer many advantages over glass or quartz windows. Sapphire has significantly more scratch resistance, higher thermal shock tolerance, wider light frequency transmission characteristics and can operate over a wider temperature range. EnvirOptics window caps combine high purity sapphire with a high temperature brazing process to produce a hermetically sealed window with extraordinary strength.

TYPICAL APPLICATIONS INCLUDE:

  • Corrosive Processes
  • Cryogenic Devices
  • High Temperature Environments
